New Year's Eve in Los Angeles usually means surge pricing, a long wait for a rideshare and a photo of you in the back seat of someone else's Camry. You can start 2027 better than that. Pull up to dinner, the party or the rooftop in a 1955 Porsche Speedster, a black-on-black 1969 Mustang or a white Cadillac convertible, and let the car be part of the night.
This guide covers New Year's Eve car rental in Los Angeles: which classic fits your plans, how to plan the night, and why you should book now.
New Year's Eve 2026 lands on a long weekend
New Year's Eve is Thursday, December 31, and New Year's Day is Friday, January 1, so a lot of people get a four-day weekend. That means more parties, more out-of-town guests and fewer cars left by mid-December. Our fleet is small and every car is one of a kind, so the most popular ones go first.
Pick the classic that matches your night

| Your plans | Car | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Dinner for two and a midnight kiss | 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster, black or silver | Two seats, low and light, the most photographed car in our fleet |
| Black-tie party or a moody night downtown | 1969 Mustang convertible, black on black | Sharp and dark under city lights |
| Four friends, one party | 1965 Mustang convertible, red or blue | Four seats and the easiest classic to drive |
| A grand arrival with friends | 1967 Cadillac DeVille, white, 1970 DeVille, red or 1961 Buick Electra | Big back seats, soft ride and real old-Hollywood presence |

Good to know: the Speedsters are manual, so make sure your driver is comfortable with a stick shift.
Plan the night around the car
A classic is perfect for an early dinner, sunset photos on the last day of the year, or a New Year's Day drive along the coast. Midnight traffic is heavy and parking near the big parties is hard, so plan your route and parking ahead, and pick a designated driver who skips the champagne toast. See our special occasion car rentals.
Make it a whole weekend
With the holiday on a Thursday, a multi-day rental makes sense. Take the car out on New Year's Eve, then use New Year's Day for a slow drive to the beach. Heading to Pasadena on January 1? See our guide to Rose Parade and Rose Bowl 2027 car rentals.
Each rental day includes 50 miles, and classic car service stays within 50 miles of our Inglewood office. Extra miles are $1.50 each.
Tips for a smooth New Year's Eve
- Book now. December weekends and New Year's Eve are the first dates to sell out.
- Choose your designated driver. Whoever drives the classic should be 25+, licensed and on your rental, and should stay sober all night.
- Plan your photo stop before dark. Sunset on New Year's Eve comes just before 5 p.m. in Los Angeles, so get the golden-hour shots before dinner.
- Bring layers. It's a convertible in December. Top-down is the point, but nights get cold.
- Confirm your drop-off point. Ask your venue or host where cars can pull up, since many streets are busy or restricted that night.
